Authentic Judaica Gifts

The tradition of giving gifts is one of the nicest traditions in Judaism. It helps foster a sense of closeness within the family and community. Of course receiving isn’t bad either. After all, what could be more genuine and sincere than giving your friend, spouse, mom, dad, or special someone something truly meaningful and spiritual that they will cherish for many years to come. How many of you often resort to the generic ‘gift card’ if for no other reason than you just don’t know what else to buy for that special someone that ‘has everything’? I admit, I am a repeat offender.

When I was a Bar Mitzvah, my father gave me a special ring that had been passed down from his father. I have it to this day and just recently gave it my son Aaron for his Bar Mitzvah. I also have a gold necklace with a Magen David (Star of David) that was given to me by a friend over 30 years ago.

In the spirit of gift giving, I can’t think of anything more rewarding than to give someone something, that is not only an authentic piece of art, but will hopefully remain with them or passed on through generations.

So, on your next gift giving opportunity, give the gift they will cherish for a lifetime (or even longer).
