Israel day trips are truly the most amazing in the world. A unique combination of a beautifully diverse landscape coupled with a relatively small geographic area provide for a wide variety of day trips that will appeal to every member of the family; Not to mention, you can do and see so much in a short period of time.

Ella, my 10 year old daughter at the start of the 'Snake Path' at Masada
From the snowcapped mountains of the Hermon in the north of Israel to the desert scenery of the
Negev and winter sun destination of Eilat, vacationing in the winter months in Israel will allow
you such diversity and choice you'll not know where to start.
The other seasons in Israel will open to you the amazing opportunities of hiking the countries
valleys and hills of the north regions. Flowing rivers and waterfalls to walk & cross, rafting
on the Jordan river, desert hikes to the Dead Sea and Masada inviting you all year round.
And the best part is: They are really inexpensive.
I will give you my top picks with all of the relevant details for Israel day trips below. I have done them all with my family and enjoyed them very much. You will too.
Dead Sea & Masada
The Dead Sea
At 423 metres (or 1,388 feet) below sea level, the Dead Sea is the lowest point
on the earth and is known in Hebrew as Yam Hamelach or the Sea of Salt due to
its high saline concentration. In fact, it is the deepest hypersaline lake in
the world.
Masada
Masada is considered one of the most amazing historical and archeological sites
in the world and is a must see for anyone visiting Israel and the Dead Sea area.
Masada Israel (comes from the word Metzud'ah meaning fortress in
Hebrew) is the site of the fortress built by Herod the great King of Judea, but
is best known as a symbol of Jewish resistance, courage and the tragic events of
the Great Revolt of the Jews against the Roman siege.
Northern Israel
The Meshushim Pool (Hexagon Pool)
One of my favorite of the little hikes is the Meshushim pool (means hexagon in
Hebrew) in the Yehudiya Nature Reserve. Situated north of the Sea of Galilee and
of the small community called Had Ness on road 888, the pool is located at the
bottom of a deep canyon, walled in with hexagonal basalt rock formations,
flowing water and cascades.
Zaki Trail - an amazing water hike for the whole family
The Zaki Trail, the last leg of the Meshushim stream flowing from the Yehudiya
Nature reserve into the Sea of Galilee, is one of the most amazing water hikes
in the country.
